The Tallman Volunteer Fire Department
is looking for NEW MEMBERS!
Our members come from all professions and share one
common goal- keeping the Tallman Fire District a safe
community.
You will undergo comprehensive firefighting training
and work with the state of the art fire fighting equipment.
You'll share challenges, camaraderie and a sense of
pride while providing a vital service to your community.

What are the requirements to join"?
Be a citizen of the United States
Be 18 or Older
Possess a valid NY drivers license
Have the ability to complete required training
Successful completion of application and interview
What training will you receive
All members will complete the Firefighter 1 training
course taught at the Rockland County Fire Training
Center. Classes are held in the evenings
What is the Time Commitment
You are required to attend a percentage of drills on
Monday nights, attend outside training as necessary and
respond to calls when you are available
How are firefighters alerted to
calls?
Through the use of a voice paging system activated by a
county dispatch center. Additionally sirens are activated
through out the town to notify members of a call
